Weld-On (SCIGRIP) 4 is formulated as a blush-resistant cement for bonding plexiglass acrylic (poly-methyl methacrylate) to itself. It will aslo form strong bonds with other thermoplastics such as polystyrene, butyrate, and polycarbonate to themselves.
Weld-On 4 is a water-thin cement formulated to develop very clear and high strength bonds for plexiglass acrylic. The bond is achieved by first softening the surfaces to be joined and then fusing them together with the dissipation of the solvent. The initial bond forms within minutes and increases in strength over time. Weld-On 4 (@ 73°F) reaches 80% of it's ultimate bond strength in 72 hours.
